Capt. D's Best Bites
January, February, March
The beginning of the year on the Nature Coast is big spotted Sea Trout time! Warm sunny days will also bring the Redfish out to play. And lets not forget the Sheephead. So lets get fishing.
April, May, June
The Tarpon should start showing up in April and they get thicker from there on. The waters are literally alive this time of year with Trout, Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, Lady Fish, Jacks, and the Big Black Drums should start showing up for the summer. What a great time to vacation in Florida and fish!
Scallops, Scallops, Scallops... What a great way to beat Florida's Dog Days of Summer. Fun for all ages, I would say 6 years and up and you really need to be comfortable in the water. But what a blast and wow are they good to eat!
The fishing is also great this time of year. We get great summer tides that flood the oyster bars. That means Redfish, Big Black Drums and the occasional gator trout will all be up close and personal. Book your fishing trip early, these months fill up fast.
Fall is in the air and all I can say is WOW, it's on fire out there. Big Sea Trout, Redfish, Spanish Mackerel, Black Tip Sharks, and Jack Cravals all bite really well this time of year. It truly is a magical time of year to fish the Nature Coast. So book a fishing trip with me Capt. D. and I'll put you on em'.
While the rest of the country is covered in snow and ice, the fishing in the sunshine state is hot, hot, hot, and the weather is perfect, nice and mild. The big Sea Trout Redfish, and Spanish Mackerel all bite really well this time of year. So book your fishing trip now and get out of the cold and into the fish.
